Desktop application for editing a predetermined set of XML data


SUMMARY
--------------------------------
The purpose of this project is develop a simple application with a graphical user interface to enable users to edit a predetermined set of XML data.

The XML data is stored on an existing computer system called the “FSN”.  The XML data represents “memory registers” stored on the FSN.  Each “memory register” is a small set of simple alpha-numeric information.  (Please refer to the attached sample files.)

The application shall hereafter be referred to as “GUI”.  The GUI shall consist of a main form, with 10 tabs.  The GUI shall use only standard controls, such as tabs, drop-down lists, text fields, checkboxes and command buttons.  The data should be displayed in rows, with each row representing one set of XML data.

The application must be compiled to run under the following operating systems:
• Windows XP
• Windows Vista – 32bit and 64bit
• Windows 7 – 32bit and 64 bit
• MacOS X

The application must be extremely responsive, reacting to user input instantly.  There must be NO lag on any GUI action.


DELIVERABLES

• Deliverables shall include:
            (1) source code
            (2) for Windows:  installer or executable (one installer for all versions of Windows)
            (3) for MacOS:  installer or executable

• The source code shall be commented, per typical software industry standards
• The application shall be thoroughly tested by developer prior to delivery
• The application shall be stable and free of bugs, to the best of developer’s knowledge
• Any bugs discovered by client within 30 days of delivery shall be fixed by developer within the scope of the original project
