Definition: Microcirculation is a newly-emerging science. We should study related knowledge about microcirculation from the historical angle and in a scientific attitude, neither being overcritical of our predecessors nor blindly seeking biased definition. Karen Krogh Busch is the earliest one who put forth the concept of microcirculation. In 1929 he advanced the theory that “the capillary vessels are the organs for material exchange between blood and tissue”, laying a foundation for the development of the microcirculation science. In 1980, Prof. Tian Niu put forward that “microcirculation is the dynamic state of humor, which directly takes part in the material exchange of tissue cells. The humor of vertebrate (in closed circulation) consists of blood, tissue fluid and tissue cells.” Famous biologist Prof. Bei Shizhang advanced, “What is life activity? From the biophysical viewpoint, it is nothing but the manifestation of the comprehensive movement of three things in nature, i.e., material, energy and information, which are changing all the time in life system. The organized and sequential movement of the three things is the basis of life.” The single-cell organism can directly transmit material, information and energy to the exter
